An evening of superb entertainment awaits at Bute Community Band’s Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 15.

Under the direction of Tony Spencer, Bute Community Band - a concert band comprising both professional and amatuer musicians based on the island - has a bumper programme of festive pieces sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Prokofiev’s ‘Troika’, ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’, and Leroy Anderson’s ‘A Christmas Festival’ will provide plenty of Christmas cheer, while renditions of ‘Disney at the Movies’ and the ‘Theme from Game of Thrones’ will be the perfect remedy for the winter blues.

The community swing band will also perform a set of well-known festive tunes, in addition to solo performances during the night.

All proceeds from the concert - which will be held in the United Church of Bute at 7.30pm - will go to help fund the purchase of 15 smartphones for each of the island’s new Syrian families, with any remaining money going into the band’s funds for future performances.

Refreshments will also be on offer, kindly provided by the catering team at the United Church of Bute.

Tickets are £5 - available from band members or on the door on the night.
