The organisers of next weekend’s inaugural ButeFest music festival have issued an appeal for volunteers to help at the event.

Everyone who offers their services for stewarding or traffic management duties during the festival, which runs from July 17 to 19, will receive a free weekend pass and a meal for each shift they work.

Simon Kay from the ButeFest organising committee - who is also the founder and principal organiser of the Solfest festival in west Cumbria - told The Buteman: “We have about 60 or 70 volunteers already, but we still need more - and the more the better.”
