Tickets for all six concerts in the popular Isle of Bute Jazz Festival’s Sunday afternoon winter concert series have now gone on sale.

Tickets for each of the sessions, featuring, among others, Rose Room, Jazzmain and the Deke McGee Band, can be purchased from Brechin’s on Bridgend Street on (01700) 502922 and at the Victoria Hotel on (01700) 500016.

It is the first time that tickets for all the gigs, which are held on a monthly basis at Rothesay’s Victoria Hotel between October and March, have been made available prior to the start of the series.

Kicking off the winter events, on Sunday, October 4, is the charismatic Bobby Wishart, who had to pull out of this year’s Jazz Festival after a nasty fall down some stairs at the beginning of the year. Now fully recovered, Bobby is back to his best and will be playing with the island-based Tim Saul Quartet

Tim, who is also the festival’s chairman, said: “We hope the early availability of tickets to all the winter events will enable jazz fans to buy their tickets and plan their Sundays around jazz, rather than to arrange something else and then finding it clashes with one of our Sunday afternoon concerts.”
