The coffers of Bute Community Band were boosted recently with a donation of £200 from Argyll and Bute Trust.

Pictured are BCB’s chairman, John Blick, receiving the cheque from Argyll and Bute Trust chairman, Dan Edgar. The donation will be put towards the cost of hiring a bus to transport band members, instruments and equipment, to Loch Fyne on May 17, for a performance in this year’s Loch Fyne Food Fair.

Mr Blick said: “We are extremely grateful to the Argyll and Bute Trust for their support. Buying music, instruments, hiring halls for rehearsals, and the cost of transport, are all big expenditures for the band, so we are very appreciative for this donation.”

Mr Edgar said: “The trust is always happy to support good causes, and to help support community organisations like this one which go across the age spectrum, from primary to pensioner.”
