Bute returns to the road cycling spotlight on September 19 and 20 thanks to the 2015 Bute Festival of Cycling - or the Rothesay Weekend, as it’s otherwise known.

The festival will again feature the five-event schedule which has made it a firm favourite with road cyclists from across Scotland and beyond - with the Serpentine hillclimb opening the event on Saturday morning, a 2-Up round-the-island time trial in the afternoon, the ten-mile Ettrickdale-Rhubodach time trial on Sunday morning and the round-the-island road race on Sunday afternoon.

In the middle of all that is a recent addition to the weekend in the form of the Bute Cyclo-Cross race on Saturday evening, around an innovative route taking in the Meadows, the Public Park, the King George V playing fields, Lovers’ Walk and Charlie’s Park.
