Ardbeg Baptist Church’s annual Christmas coffee morning takes place this Saturday, November 29, at the church in Rothesay’s King Street.
As regular readers will know, the church has a coffee morning every Saturday between 10am and 12 noon, where it’s always good to have a chat and eats in a safe, relaxed atmosphere, where folk from the island and visitors to bute are always welcome.
In the run up to Christmas, however, there is a special coffee morning where there are not only homemade eats with the tea and coffee, but also sales tables providing opportunities to buy home-made ginger cordial, chutneys, jams, marmalades, cakes, pancakes, meringues and more - those who come early normally have quite a choice!
There are also tables with various crafted items, plants and holly etc.
So, plants are being brought on, items are being knitted, and much baking will be done for the morning (some early in the morning - freshly baked scones and pancakes taste best!). Some of the preserves are already in the jars, and some holly branches with berries have been cut - because the birds also like them...
See you between 10am and 12 noon this Saturday!
