Actor Richard Mylan from the TV series Waterloo Road is set add his name to the list of showbusiness figures to be married on Bute when he ties the knot at Mount Stuart next year.

Mylan, who plays deputy head teacher Simon Lowsley in the long-running BBC series, met his now fiancee, make-up artist Tammie Dineen, during filming of the show at part of the former Greenock Academy.

The actor was born in Swansea and is based in Cardiff, and the couple chose Mount Stuart as the venue for their ceremony due to its dual Scottish and Welsh links.

When not planning his wedding, Mylan, whose last Waterloo Road scenes, filmed in December 2013, form part of the , works with the Prince’s Trust and teaches at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Other famous faces to have tied the knot at Mount Stuart include former JLS star JB Gill, who married Chloe Tangney in May of this year, and fashion designer Stella McCartney, who wed magazine publisher Alasdhair Willis in August 2003.
