VIDEO: We meet the man behind Manfred The Baddie

Children’s book author John Fardell - the creator of Manfred The Baddie, Jeremiah Jellyfish Flies High and The Day Louis Got Eaten - visited Rothesay Library on Saturday.

The main purpose of his visit was to present medals and certificates to the 129 young Bute readers who completed this year’s Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge - though he also read the whole of When Louis Got Eaten and helped some of the children present to imagine their own picture story.

In addition he took time to share his thoughts with us the future of traditional printed-and-bound books as they face an ever-more-challenging fight for the attention of today’s young people.
