VIDEO: Puppet show brings Goldilocks to life in Rothesay

The classic children’s story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears came to life on the Rothesay stage this week as part of Scotland’s annual Puppet Animation Festival.

Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre’s take on the story, 3 Bears, put a different spin on the age-old tale, with puppetteer and storyteller Steve Smart demonstrating to an audience of local primary school pupils that things turn out much better when the bears decide not to chase or to eat the girl they find asleep in Baby Bear’s bed.

The Puppet Animation Festival, taking place this year from March 28 to April 18, has visited venues across Scotland every year since 1984, with Rothesay an annual fixture on the programme and Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre a regular feature of shows at the Pavilion.
