Five of Scotland’s finest storytellers gathered in Rothesay on Saturday for an evening of funny, poignant, arresting and thought-provoking tales.

Host, joint organiser and Rothesay resident Alison Clark was joined on stage by Donald Nelson, Michael Kerins, Donna Bowyer and Iain Ferguson at St Paul’s Church hall in the town’s Deanhood Place, a venue which is more often used as a live music venue these days but which this time echoed to the sparkling sound of the spoken word.

The event was held to raise money for SLATE, a UK-based charity whose aim is to fight poverty, inform and educate young Russians and to help pupils at a school for blind and partially-sighted children in the city of Perm, near the Ural Mountains.
