The Bute Studio Trail will be held this weekend (September 28-29) at various locations across the island.

Following on from the success of last year’s Bute Studio Trail, the members of IBAC (Isle of Bute Artists Collective) are opening their doors again this weekend.

This year there are ten new exhibitors making a total of 32 artists and craftspeople showcasing their work at 16 venues.

Skills on display include jewellery-making, painting and printmaking, woodwork, metalwork and knitting.

Ranging from a sitting room in the Bay to a container in the Port, and with two studios on the west side, venues are spread over the length and breadth of the island. The Studio Trail will give you the opportunity to meet the artists and see where some of the items on sale are made. At some venues you will be able to watch the artists at work – and maybe even have a go yourself!

The event is being held over two days on September 28-29. Venues will be open between 10am and 4pm on both days so there will be plenty of time to complete the trail once the Vikings have been seen off on Saturday evening!

For those without their own transport, the Open Top Bus will be running so you can enjoy a trip round our beautiful island and stop at those studios you wish to visit.

Whether you are coming to buy or just to show your support you are very welcome. You never know, there may even be tea and cakes on offer!
