IN PICTURES: Lonsdale’s magic inspires Achievement Bute

The results of a week of artistic activity by local charity Achievement Bute have gone on display at Mount Stuart.

Groups of children, led by local art teacher Jane Catlin, spent the week making a series of contemporary artworks inspired by the stunning stained glass windows and other designs at Mount Stuart created by Horatio Walter Lonsdale.

The results of Achievement Bute's 'Lonsdale Through the Looking Glass' activity week were shown off at a reception at Mount Stuart. (The drinks provided were stricltly soft!)

A tapestry, a series of four coloured panels in translucent materials and Perspex, and a selection of plaster sculptures were unveiled at Mount Stuart on Friday, and will remain on display in the Marble Hall and Marble Chapel for the rest of the Mount Stuart summer season.
