A new film telling the story of Bute through the thoughts and recollections of the people who live on the island will receive its premiere in Rothesay next month.

A limited number of free tickets are available for members of the public to attend two screenings of ‘Brandanes, People of Bute’, filmed earlier this summer, with all the interviews conducted by Johnny Bute.

Both screenings of the film are at the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre - on Sunday, October 4 and Sunday, October 11 - but members of the public can also apply for tickets to both events, free of charge.

In each case, doors open at 5.30pm and the film starts at 6pm. If you’d like to register, email Deborah Jackson at dj@johnbute.com or call 0207 427 2306. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

For the October 4 screening, registration close on September 30; for the October 11 screening, registration will close on October 7.
