Scottish author and illustrator Debi Gliori visited Rothesay Library this week to meet pupils from Bute’s three primary schools.

Best known as the creator of many books and picture books for children, including the Mr Bear series, Debi’s illustrated talk had her young audience gripped throughout - while the sounds of laughter confirmed just how much the pupils enjoyed the experience!

Debi won the Picture Book award at the Red House Children’s Book Awards in 1997, while the Mr Bear series has won or been nominated for numerous prizes - Mr Bear to the Rescue was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1997, while Mr Bear Babysits, Mr Bear’s Picnic and Mr Bear to the Rescue all received a gold award in the Petit Filous Best Toy Awards.
