The Marble Chapel at Mount Stuart will host the annual Carols by Candlelight charity service on Monday, December 21.

Tickets for the annual Carols by Candlelight service at Mount Stuart’s marble chapel go on sale this Monday, December 7.

The stunning setting of the chapel has provided a breathtaking backdrop for a night of traditional Christmas carols and readings for many years now, and organiser Ian Sinclair has put together another programme to delight - this year on Monday, December 21.

As well as traditional Christmas carols, the programme for the evening includes a series of readings alongside choral ensemble works and solo and duet guests.

All the proceeds from this year’s service will be donated to Smile Train, an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a simple, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate.

Millions of children in developing countries live in shame as a result of impaired clefts - but more unfortunately they also have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking.

Cleft repair surgery, however, is simple, and the transformation in those who receive it is immediate.

Smile Train provides training and funding to empower local doctors in more than 85 developing countries to provide free cleft repair surgery in their communities. How often do you get the chance to save a child’s life for just £150?

Tickets for this year’s Carols by Candlelight service will be available from Monday, December 7 at the offices of Wm. Skelton & Co, Castle Chambers, High Street, Rothesay, during normal business hours.
