Local Highland dancer Kiera Seath tested her skills against some of the best young dancers in Scotland on Saturday at a scholarship organised by the Scottish Dance Teachers’ Alliance.
Twelve-year-old Kiera, a pupil at the Speirs School of Dance in Rothesay, was nominated by the adjudicator who visited Bute last year for the school’s exams - and who saw a spark of something special in a pupil who has only been dancing for two and a half years.
Her dance teacher Margaret-Anne Speirs said: “I was really impressed with Kiera, and she really enjoyed it.
“When the examiner last year nominated her to go forward to the scholarship, at first I didn’t think she’d do it. But she took it all in her stride and was really happy with the outcome.”
