Pupils at Bute’s three primary schools hosted two visitors from Australia this week as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.

Neil Adam and Judy Turner visited Rothesay, North Bute and St Andrew’s to tell the story of the life, loves, adventures and sorrows of Scotland’s best-loved author, Robert Louis Stevenson, before a show at Rothesay Library that night.

The visitors were organised by Patricia McArthur from Rothesay Library and they were a huge hit with Primary 6 and 7 pupils from Rothesay Primary, who were enthralled with the combination of song, rhyme and story and joined in with hand clapping games to round off the event. They were particularly impressed with Judy playing the saw!
