Around 140 dancers are expected to descend on Rothesay Pavilion on Saturday, April 25, for the Bute Highland Dance Festival.
The annual event is set to welcome youngsters from all over, including Stranraer, Campbeltown, Lanark, Dunoon and Oban, in addition to local dancers from the island all hoping to impress this year’s adjudicators - Nicola Glover (Dumbarton), Myra Miller (East Kilbride), and Victor Wesley (Skelmorlie).
Piping for the day is being provided by local lad, Daniel McDermott, and Colin Prentice from Dunoon, and a special stall will also be manned by local dancer, Megan Poole, who is fundraising for her forthcoming trip to Malawi. Be sure to pop by and show your support.
The festival committee would also like to thank local thrift shop, ‘For Bute’, for their very generous financial support which has been a tremendous help.
The dance festival kicks off at 10.30am, and entry is £3 for adults, and £2 for children and concessions.
We’ll see you there!
