The autumn season of Bute Film Club kicks off on Sunday, October 26, with The Lunchbox, a romantic drama in which a mistaken delivery in Mumbai’s famously efficient lunchbox delivery system connects a young housewife to an older man as they build a fantasy world together through notes in the lunchbox.
The screenings are in the Discovery Theatre at 7.30pm.
Evenings will feature the draw for a pair of tickets for one of the Discovery’s scheduled films, a convivial glass of wine at a modest price and the chance to hire a DVD from the growing stock of films shown. A short informal discussion of the films will follow the screening.
The club is financed solely by its membership subscriptions. If the club doesn’t receive enough fees upfront, they will be unable to run the full season. The fee is £22.50 for each half season of four films, £40 if paying for all eight films upfront. Members may bring along a guest on the night, paying £6.50 at the door.
Bute Film Club have a varied and interesting programme planned and look forward to the continued support of members and to welcoming newcomers to their Sundays at the cinema. Call (01700) 505145 for details of how to join.
