A new novel with a fictional Bute whisky distillery at its heart has just been published.

The book, The Whisky Affair, is the second by Michael J. Gill, a former American football coach who has spent most of his professional career in the beer, wine and whisky industry.

Described as “a fast paced mystery, suspense and romance story all wrapped up in the exciting world of whisky”, the book combines whisky facts with fiction and spans two continents, combining large cities such as Toronto and Las Vegas with small towns and village life on Bute.

Mr Gill lives in Nova Scotia, having spent the last two decades in the USA and Canada, though he is originally from Yorkshire, and his family still lives in England.

Both The Whisky Affair and his first novel, Tight Spiral, are available to order online in e-book and paperback format.
