Bute Highland dancer Robyn Horsburgh has added another exotic destination to her list of globetrotting performances by takingpart in three shows in the Omani capital of Muscat.

Robyn, a former pupil at Rothesay Academy and the Anne McIlroy School of Dance, was chosen as one of 44 Scottish dancers for the trio of performances to mark the 44th year of the current Sultan of Oman’s reign.

Robyn, who spent ten days in the Arab sultanate with her fellow dancers, was chosen as a result of her performances in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2012 and 2013 and at Disneyland Paris this time last year.

“They were looking for authenticity, and they got it,” Robyn said. “It was a very different experience to what I’m used to, but it was so much fun.”
