VIDEO: Sneak peek behind the scenes at Bute’s pantomime

Waiting for Video...

The curtain goes up on the first performance of Bute’s community pantomime tonight (Friday, December 20) - but The Buteman can give you a wee look behind the scenes at just a little bit of what’s in store.

We were lucky enough to attend Thursday evening’s dress rehearsal for ‘Sleeping Beauty’ at Rothesay Pavilion, and can promise that audiences on Friday and Saturday night are in for plenty of fun and laughter and no shortage of great acting and singing.

The show has been put together by Bute Amateur Players, in association with Achievement Bute, under the direction of Elizabeth MacMillan and Dorothy MacDonald, and after weeks of intensive rehearsals the last pieces of the jigsaw are coming together just in time for the first night.

Our video shows Claire MacMillan as Prince Nicholas of Kilchattan Bay, her trusty servant Nigel and Dobbin the pantomime horse belting out the R Kelly song ‘I Believe I Can Fly’. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, don’t hang about - they’re available from Rothesay bookshop and stationer Print Point on 01700 503389, Rothesay Pavilion (01700 504250) or Achievement Bute (01700 505558), priced £8 for an adult and £6 for a child, with a family (2+2) ticket available for £20.
