The local Island Voices choir gave the first performance of a new cantata for and inspired by Bute in Rothesay on Sunday.

Conceived by Malcolm Alexander and Tony Spencer - the former wrote the words, the latter the music - the cantata featured five movements conveying the love of God as he formed the island and featured the motif of the Holy Spirit as a free-flying goose.

Each of the five movements was accompanied by some stunning images of the island’s scenery; the video above features a short clip from the final movement, ‘Prayer for the Future’.
