VIDEO: Bute jazz festival’s brolly parade

Waiting for Video...

Umbrellas of all shapes, sizes and colours gathered in the centre of Rothesay on Saturday morning - their owners not expecting rain but looking forward to the brolly parade which is the centrepiece of the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival.

This year’s parade was led off in traditional fashion by Rothesay’s own parade marshal Jenny Brown, with Richard White’s Fivers and friends providing the music as the marchers headed from Guildford Square, along Montague Street and Deanhood Place and to the climax of the parade next to the town’s Esplanade fountain.

The prize for the best decorated junior brolly this year went to Rothesay’s own Adeline Crowner, while Willie Dyer from Glasgow took away the adult prize for his ‘Sheikh of Araby’ costume.

The festival continues until Monday afternoon - keep checking this site for more video clips of the best of the weekend’s entertainment!
