A new development, proposed for a site of particular historical and aesthetic importance on Bute, has island residents up in arms.

Stop me if you’ve heard that one before.

However, works are quickly thrown into disarray when a body is discovered in the middle of the location. While this isn’t a common occurrence for Bute residents, for Alison Cameron – the protagonist in Myra Duffy’s mystery series – it’s becoming all too familiar.

Myra’s fifth book, ‘Grave Matters at St Blane’s’ returns to Bute – the series’ second biggest character, arguably – which sees Alison begin work on writing a visitor guide for a theme park due to be built on land near to St Blane’s Chapel.

What Alison didn’t reckon on was for a body to be unearthed at this ancient site. Not a recent body, at least. With a hearty band of fierce protestors to contend with, and more than a few dubious characters working on the project, Alison finds herself embroiled in yet another murder mystery – one which is putting her at risk.
