The chairman of the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival says the feedback received during the 2014 event suggests the 27th festival was “a great success”.

Tim Saul spoke to The Buteman almost as soon as he came off stage at Monday afternoon’s ‘farewell session’, at the end of a holiday weekend which attracted hundreds of visitors to Bute from throughout the UK and beyond, all keen to sample the combination of top-quality jazz and warm hospitality for which the event is renowned.

“Until we’ve done our wrap-up and crunched all the numbers, it will be hard to say what the financial outcome was from this year,” Tim said, “but from the feedback received by the committee and myself, it’s been a great success.”

* More from the festival - including a fantastic spread of colour pictures of most of the weekend’s acts and many of the entries in Saturday’s brolly parade - in the new issue of The Buteman, on sale from Thursday, May 8.
