Details of Bute Arts Society’s 2014-15 concert season have been announced.
The programme features five concerts between October and March at Rothesay Joint Campus, plus the now traditional season curtain-raiser on Rothesay Pavilion’s grand piano.
The dates for your diary are as follows:
Friday, October 3 at Rothesay Pavilion - Yaunfan Yang playing Chopin, Schumann, Beethoven and Rachmaninov.
Friday, October 31 at Rothesay Joint Campus - Hoot (Helen MacLeod on harp and Emma Wilkins on flute), playing works by Lutoslawski, Debussy, Andriessen, Dodgson, Bach, Takemitsu and Farr, plus a newly commissioned work, Cowal Colours by Edward McGuire.
Friday, November 21 at Rothesay Joint Campus - Fires of Love (Renaissance and Baroque music on lute, guitar, percussion and voice), featuring Scots and English music of the Jacobean era.
Friday, January 9, 2015 at Rothesay Joint Campus - Jean Johnson (clarinet) and Steven Osborne (piano), playing Brahms, Beethoven and Miklos Rozsa.
Friday, February 13 at Rothesay Joint Campus - Ishizuka/Ji Liu Duo (violin and piano), winners of the John Tunnell Trust award.
Friday, March 6 at Rothesay Joint Campus - Gildasa String Quartet, playing works by Wolf, Shostakovich, Janacek, Beethoven and more.
