The horrendous weather on both Saturday and Sunday put paid to both rounds of the Hector Scott Trophy at Port Bannatyne Golf Club.
The tournament will now be held this Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19 – the original date on the fixture card. (The match secretary apologises for the confusion – not like him to be ahead of himself!)
The winner of the trophy will be the player with the best aggregate net score over the two days of the tournament.
The only action involving Port Bannatyne golfers on Sunday was one the team members concerned won’t look back on with much fondness after the club’s run in the Mail on Sunday five-man team classic was brought to an abrupt halt.
Ian Shaw was the Port’s only winner in a 4-1 defeat at Loudon Gowf.
In other news, knockout competition draws are on the board in the locker room, and competitors are asked to check ‘play-by’ dates, as some competitions’ first round ties are to be played by the end of this month. (There is a Challenge Book in the foyer with full details of knock out tie procedures).
Fixture lists are also available in the foyer for members.
