A note for all participants in The Rothesay Motor Services Winter League - if this is the kind of weather the competition is going to give us - bring it on!

A frosty autumn sunshine greeted the start of The Rothesay Motor Services Winter League and last year’s winners Jamie Jardine and Jack Paterson got off to the perfect start in Qualifying League A with a 4 & 2 win over Pete Barnett and Calum MacPhail.

Elsewhere in League A newcomers John Wilson, subbed by Mike Ivory, and Steve Robson were welcomed to the Winter League with a 5 & 4 defeat against Gordon Peacock and Colin Renfrew. With Roddie Shaw on Cenotaph duty and partner Sam Jamieson on a course their opposition, sponsor David Reid and David Driver, were given a walk over in the last game in that league.
