Elaine Thom of Port Bannatyne Golf Club is celebrating after winning the bronze division of the Scottish Ladies Grand Medal Final at the Duke’s Course in St Andrews.

The 26-handicapper secured the prize with a score of 71, the lowest net score of the day, at the Duke’s Course after qualifying through winning the west of Scotland regional finals in Hamilton in July.

“I am chuffed to bits to win the medal,” Elaine said, “and giving the ‘thank you’ speech was a great opportunity to promote Port Bannatyne, one of the super golf courses we are so lucky to have on Bute.

“Many thanks to my golf friends at Port Bannatyne, Bute and Gleddoch. All your good wishes came with me - it was a wonderful day, a fantastic experience.”
