SLIDESHOW: Bute cycling festival ends on a high note

Cleveland rider Harry Tanfield capped a superb individual weekend at Bute Wheelers’ Festival of Cycling with victory in the 40-mile APR road race on Sunday afternoon.

Harry’s victory in the festival’s showpiece race ensured he would be a worthy winner of the gents’ ‘yellow jersey’ prize, awarded to the top performer over the weekend’s four events.

And Harry wasn’t the only member of the Tanfield family to shine on Sunday: his brother Charlie was a joint winner of the ten-mile time trial from Ettrickdale to Rhubodach and back, tying with Chris Smart on a time of 21 minutes and 32 seconds.

The ladies’ yellow jersey award went to Lynsey Curran of Glasgow Couriers, who followed up her win in Sunday’s time trial with a fourth place finish in the ladies’ road race.
