After a weather-enforced gap of more than a month, shinty is set to return to Rothesay in style today (Saturday) with a double-header of action at the Meadows.

The day begins at 1.30pm, when Bute’s first team take on Inverness in the only preliminary round tie in this season’s Camanachd Cup competition, with an away tie against Beauly awaiting the winners in the first round proper.

Then, at 4pm, there’ll be a new name on the list of teams to have visited Rothesay when Dunoon Camanachd take to the field against Bute’s second team in Marine Harvest South Division Two.

Dunoon are in their first season playing competitive shinty, and picked up their first league win earlier this month when they enjoyed a 4-0 win away to Aberdour’s second team.
