The annual Robert McAlister Memorial junior shinty tournament takes place at Rothesay Pavilion this Sunday, February 15.

This year will see the fifth annual playing of the competition, in memory of Robert McAlister, a keen Bute shinty player who died aged nine in a quad biking accident in May 2010.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and to lend their support to the next generation of local shinty players - admission to the Pavilion is free, and the action on Sunday gets under way at 11am.

The tournament is open to teams in the P5 and under and P7 and under age group, and is expected to attract visitors from Cowal and Argyll to compete alongside their Bute counterparts.
