Bute Shinty Club’s junior players narrowly missed out on victory in not one but two recent six-a-side competitions.

At Oban the club’s under-14s finished runners-up to Oban Camanachd, the final being the only time they lost in the course of the day - and also the only time they conceded a goal!

The seven Bute players who travelled also took part in a trial for the South of Scotland under-14 team, and four have been asked to attend another trial and training session this weekend - Ryan Craig, CJ McMillan, Craig McKay and Arran McKirdy.

Meanwhile, Bute’s P5 and under players were runners-up in the South of Scotland primary sixes at Taynuilt on Sunday: after losing their first game, they bounced back to reach the final, only losing out to a Taynuilt side who scored the winner with ten seconds of extra time remaining.
