Bute Shinty Club’s first team have been handed an away tie against Glasgow Mid Argyll in the second round of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup.

Bute booked their place in the draw, made in Inverness on Monday, courtesy of a 4-1 victory away to Strachur in the first round, with Stewart Stirling, Chris Lawrence, Gordon MacMillan and Ryan Craig all finding the net.

All the second round ties are scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 30 - the full draw is as follows.

Skye v Beauly, Fort William v Kingussie, Lochaber v Newtonmore, Lovat v Caberfeidh, Glenurquhart v Inveraray, Glasgow Mid Argyll v Bute, Oban Camanachd v Inverness, Kinlochshiel v Kyles Athletic.

Monday’s second round draw was made by two figures well known in Highland football circles - Inverness Caledonian Thistle captain Richie Foran and the same club’s under-20s coach Duncan Shearer, a former Lochaber shinty player.

This year’s Camanachd Cup final will be played at Mossfield Park in Oban on Saturday, September 19.
