Shinty: Bute to play host to Oban in Macaulay Cup

Bute’s first shinty fixture of 2015 was confirmed on Saturday when the draw was made for the new season’s Artemis Macaulay Cup.

The islanders will play host to Oban Camanachd at the Meadows in the first round of the tournament, with a home tie against Oban Celtic or Ballachulish awaiting the winners.

The Macaulay Cup format keeps teams in the north and south areas of the sport apart until the final, which will be played at Mossfield Park in Oban on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

The draw was made live on the Oban FM radio station by Argyll and Bute councillor Roddie McCuish and Fraser Inglis and Davie Hamilton from the Macaulay Association.
