Shinty: Bute P5s win Macaulay Sixes in Oban

Bute’s P5 and under shinty players lifted the Peter English Development Cup at the Macaulay Sixes in Oban on Saturday after winning all their group games and beating Eilan Boys from Newtonmore 4-0 in the final.

Bute scored 22 goals en route to the final and conceded only one in a great team effort.

Special mention to Jack McKirdy and Marcus Planck for outstanding performances through out the tournament, with superb touches and play of a high calibre, also for keeping the defence intact through out & ably supported through out from the rest of the team, well done boys!

Bute’s P7 and under team, missing a few regulars but bolstered by some members of the younger team, found life tougher in their section, losing their three first phase games and drawing one in the second, though the Bute team did have their chances and the games were more even than the scores suggest.

P5 and under: Bute 4-1 Glasgow Gaels Yellow, Bute 7-0 CCL Ladies, Bute 4-0 Glasgow Gaels Blue, Bute 2-0 Eilan Boys, Bute 4-0 Dalbhan, Bute 1-0 Appin. Final: Bute 4-0 Eilan Boys.

P7 and under: First phase - Bute 0-1 Meadowburn, Bute 2-4 Lochaber, Bute 0-3 Taynuilt. Second phase - Bute 2-3 Meadowburn, Bute 1-1 Lochaber, Bute 0-2 Taynuilt.
