Shinty: Bute given home tie in Plate semi-finals

Bute Shinty Club’s first team have been drawn at home to Aberdour in the semi-finals of the new-for-2014 South of Scotland Plate competition.

The competition was created as part of the reconstruction of the sport’s league set-up, and is aimed at teams knocked out in the first round of the AJG Parcels Celtic Society Cup, the major cup competition for senior teams in the south area.

The other last-four tie will see Strachur play host to Ballachulish; both matches will be played on Saturday, May 17.

Meanwhile, Bute’s second team have been drawn at home to Lochside Rovers in the second round of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup; the tie will be played at the Meadows on Saturday, May 10.
