Bute Rugby Club is to hold a tag rugby festival for all the island’s P5 pupils later this month.

More than 80 children will put their newly acquired skills to the test against each other at Rothesay Joint Campus on Thursday, May 16 following six weeks of taster sessions at North Bute, St Andrew’s and Rothesay primary schools.

In the spirit of rugby, the teams will be mixed, allowing the kids to play alongside their peers and encourage rugby as a social sport for both boys and girls.

The tournament kicks off around 9.30am and the prizes will be presented at around 11.30am.
