Rugby: Bute tourists rekindle Pentyrch link this weekend

The relationship between the rugby clubs of Bute and Pentyrch enters a new phase this weekend as a party of 14 island players heads south for the Six Nations Championship game between Wales and Scotland.

The relationship between the two clubs goes back more than 30 years, and Bute’s 2014 tour to the village on the western outskirts of Cardiff will include a number of new faces after the latest incarnation of the island club was officially established last year.

The centrepiece of the weekend is Saturday’s match at the Millennium Stadium - though even if Scotland lose we doubt it’ll take too much of the shine off the tourists’ experience...
