Bute Rugby Club’s pre-season preparations step up a gear this Saturday, July 20, with a Captain’s versus President’s match at the Meadows.

All players, past and present, are being encouraged to bring their boots and take part in what will hopefully be a bright and sunny afternoon of rugby.

The club is also hoping for a big turnout at training on Tuesday and Thursday of this week to prepare both for this Saturday’s game and the club’s first ‘proper’ 15-a-side match, a local derby against Cowal RFC in Dunoon on July 27.

Players are asked to meet this Saturday at the Meadows at around 1pm for a kick-off at approximately 2pm - if you’re playing, please be sure to bring your boots and £5 match fee.

Spectators are welcome, and post-match hospitality will be at Mac’s Bar. Training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays begin at 6pm.
