Details have been announced of Bute Rugby Club’s friendly fixtures for the first part of 2014.

The fixture list includes three games away from home during February and a tour to Wales in March, resurrecting the club’s long-standing relationship with Pentyrch RFC near Cardiff and coinciding with the Wales v Scotland Six Nations international at the Millennium Stadium.

Club secretary Sam Lawrie said: “We have organised a number of friendly fixtures, both home and away, to build on the success of last year.

“We also have plans in the pipeline for hosting the first ever Bute ten-a-side rugby festival, involving other teams from across Argyll. This is hoped to take place in April.”

Saturday, February 15 - Cartha Queen’s Park 3rd XV v Bute

Saturday, February 22 - Greenock Wanderers 3rd XV v Bute

Saturday, March 8 - Bute v Greenock Wanderers 3rd XV

Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16 - Tour to Pentyrch

New and Old players are always welcome at the club’s training sessions, every Tuesday from 6-7.30pm on hte astroturf at Rothesay Joint Campus. Players must bring trainers and boots!
