The latest flier at Rothesay Bowling Club was kindly sponsored Colin Brooks of the Electric Bakery.

First prize went to Brian Chisholm, Hugh Charker, Alan Ewing and John Gilchrist (skip), and the runners-up were Mavis Knowles, Brian McKillop, Agnes Connell and Stevie MacDonald (skip).

This Friday’s competition will be sponsored by Jimmy Burke and Stevie MacDonald.

In other news, a casual conversation between Burns circuit stalwart Davie Docherty and RBC’s John Gilchrist a few months ago led to what is being hailed as one of the club’s greatest social events in recent years and the first Burns Supper to be held in the club in approximately 18 years!

A sell-out a few weeks ago, the supper was supported by members and friends alike and all present were thoroughly entertained by the prestigious top table of Iain MacLeod, Ian McLachlan, David Docherty (chairman), Aileen Sloane, and the piper for the evening Gordon Shaw.

President Johnny Walker thanked all those involved for their efforts in making the night such a success and looked forward to it becoming a regular event on the calendar.

Tickets will also be on sale shortly for the Prize-giving Evening which will be held on Saturday, February 27.

Members, and their guests, should be sure to put this date in the diary!
