The 2015-16 Isle of Bute Pool League season is six rounds old.

It’s tight at the top of the Isle of Bute Pool League, with Struan 1 and champions Galatea 2 tied on 11 points.

Only one game of a difference separates the two teams after six rounds of matches in the Gamba’s Bar-sponsored tournament, with Struan taking first place by that narrowest of margins.

Golfers 1 and Kingarth lead the chasing pack on seven points apiece and Galatea 1 have six.

The new match format this year, consisting of 12 singles games, allows for the possibility of draws and shows just how closely-matched some of the teams are - there have been five draws so far, with each team involved taking one point.

Gordon Cumming of league leaders Struan 1 leads the individual standings with 12 wins out of 12 so far, followed by Mike McHardy (Galatea 2) on 11.

Marcus Allan (Kingarth), Shaun Kernaghan (Galatea 1) and Connor Toon (Gamba’s) share the lead in the battle for under-21 individual honours on four wins apiece, while Carol McHardy (Grapes) leads the ladies’ standings with four wins so far.
