SCOTLAND’S top-ranked pool player is to visit Bute next month as part of a national tour to raise funds for two well-known charities.

Pat Holtz, who won the Scottish singles championship title in 2010 and 2011, will visit Kingarth Hotel on Saturday, November 3 between 3pm and 8pm to raise funds for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Pat has been touring the country for several months, raising funds for the two charities by hosting exhibitions, giving private tuition and challenge matches, with all the funds collected being divided equally between both charities.

A local fund-raising flier for the right to play Pat in a best-of-nine-frames match during his Bute visit has already been won by Richie More.

Anyone who fancies testing their pool-playing skills against Pat on November 3 can do so in return for a £2 donation for one frame or a £5 donation for the best of three.
