Scottish ministers are to be lobbied on ways of helping island based sporting clubs meet the huge cost of travel to and from mainland matches.

The move follows a meeting in Rothesay between Bute County Cricket Club and Cricket Scotland’s regional participation manager, Tim Hart.

“I can promise to speak to people but I cannot promise the results.”
