IN PICTURES: Junior shinty: Bute U14s savour derby success

Bute Shinty Club’s under-14s continued their winning start to life in the South of Scotland nine-a-side league with a 5-3 victory over local rivals Kyles in Rothesay on Friday.

William Boag gave Bute the lead with barely 20 seconds on the clock, and though Conor Kennedy equalised after seven minutes, a quick-fire double from Scott Harvey gave the home side a 3-1 advantage.

Craig McKay added a fourth just before half time to give Bute a comfortable interval lead, and an own goal three minutes into the second half extended the hosts’ advantage further, before Archie Wyatt and Neilly McNaughton pulled two back for Kyles in the final ten minutes of the game.
