Bute’s own cycling club, the Bute Wheelers, is gearing up for another busy year of events on roads on and off the island.

The club is made up of cycling enthusiasts that live or frequent Bute - male and female, seniors and juniors, with a wide age span.

Most of the cycling is on the island’s roads, though also off the island, and mountain bikes are involved too.

There’s a weekly Sunday morning cycle throughout the year, plus meetings of a ladies’ group on Tuesday evenings during the summer and time trials in better weather - including the always-challenging Serpentine hillclimb.

The club ‘s AGM takes place this Sunday, January 20, from 1-3pm at the Black Bull.
