Curling: Mixed fortunes in a busy week for Bute

Bute’s curlers enjoyed mixed success in a busy week which featured matches on three successive days.

Donald Kinnear (skip), Beck Reid, Colin Sharp and Hugh Yeamans won one game and lost one in the Argyll Province contest for the Chalmers Quaich and Essi Trophy on October 23, losing 12-6 to Upper Cowal - despite winning five of the eight ends - and beating Tighnabruaich 7-6.

The following day Donnie MacLeod was the skip as Bute beat Ardgowan 6-4 in the Greenock Day League, but the following day, with Beck Reid as skip, Bute lost to Irvine 6-4 in the Ayr Day League.
