Donald Kinnear and Norman Laird won Bute Curling Club’s competition for the Cowan Pairs trophy at the Waterfront in Greenock on January 20.
Six pairs of curlers were involved in the competition, with Norman one of two guests from Dunoon who helped boost the numbers on the day.
Donald and Norman finished top of group one after beating both Donnie MacLeod and Peter Martin and Andy Eccles and Nancy Kinnear, while Jan Eccles and the other Dunoon player, Richard Addis, finished ahead of Alec Robertson and Duncan McAlister - the latter putting in his first appearance for the club for some time - and Colin Sharp and Margaret MacLeod in group two.
The final saw Donald and Norman emerge 4-2 winners against Jan and Richard to secure the trophy.
